This island is an extinct volcano and 5 square miles and is lushly covered with foliage. The capital is Bottom  occupying the only flat land available on the island and the languages spoken are Dutch and English. You may venture higher to smaller villages of Windwardside, 1,800 feet high or Hellsgate, clinging precariously to the mountainside. You’ll be amazed that people live in such remote and scenic isolation.  Until recently the islands’ villages were only connected by thousands of steps cut from rock.
