St. Maarten/St. Martin has two basic systems - Dutch and French - are both parliamentary forms of government. Half Dutch and half French this island offers two different cultures in one vacation destination. You may travel between the sides of the islands without passing through security.
The French side, St. Martin, is quiet, with breathtaking white beaches. St. Martin's capital is Marigot.
The Dutch side, St. Maarten has lots of fun activities, from snorkeling and waterskiing, to tennis and golf. St. Maarten's capital is Philipsburg which has an active nightlife.
